Luv Sanders

He's the real deal. It's been a while since we had a pg with his skill level.

He does everything well and will become the LEADER. Plays so hard.
his shot selection needs to improve. And he needs to keep the others involved. But I do indeed like him. Lets get some mo pieces in play.

If we had Freeman tonight, Corey would have had 10+ assists and we win this game . If Duncan Robinson was on our team instead of Michigan we win by 10-15 going away. Missing some more pieces. Like the Dailey signing and need another shooter badly. DJ cannot be so inconsistent and give us 2 points and 4 rebounds only. Have to get some offensive rebounds. Lost 2 rebounds that he had in his hands, giving the ball right back to Michigan after their miss. Frustrating!!!!Playing better as a team but still not well enough to win even if short - handed. Effort and defense was good. Michigan hit some really contested 3's.

Corey played very hard tonight. I think he took a couple shots he should not have taken but he put so much into the game. He is very impressive. Laurent and Foreman did not have their best games tonight but I think we are improving and will win a few in the near future.

Corey had a strong night on the defensive end and a bad night on the offensive end. He didn't do a good job getting us in our offensive sets. You can't blast foreman getting 2 points in a sanders praise thread. Yes there were a few plays were his hands cost him a few buckets, but by in large he never touched the ball. Our offense was very "sticky"

Just like the brutal Minnesota win, take it and move on. I cant help but remember Corey Sanders being on Michigan's recruiting radar for a while. The kid is a fearless, explosive playmaker at the PG position that I would've loved to see play at Mich.

??? He would average 9/10 assists a game if his guys can finish under the hoop and shooters could actually shoot. Some of the passes he makes to the block and cutters to the paint are amazing. He constantly drives and kicks to an open "shooter". He's a great passer. Could have had 15 assists vs Michigan.

On the defensive end, he covers so much court. Wish the 4 other players had as much hustle and awareness. How Eddie got him is amazing. Wish he got one Corey caliber player every year then by Corey's junior year we got something...

It is interesting to see the wide range of feedback on Corey's performance last night with FIG saying he stunk it up on offense and a Michigan fan and others calling him a major playmaker that could've had double digit assists last night.

I loved the play where he anticipated the pass and would've had a breakaway layup or dunk if he hadn't slipped when making his move on the ball.

I am simply talking about the times when he comes down the court with the mission to just put it up...fast and deep. I didn't say get the others involved, I said keep them involved. getting his shots within the flow. vs "my turn". That's alI.

and I agree..we have the worst hands in college ball. Most impressed with the simple give to Williams on the 3 on 2 break. That's all you need there. Most other times RU player takes it himself and more often misses or fouls.

I also like how he is taking charge out there on the floor more but staying positive . My favorite moment was when he reached out for and was helped up by the Mich fan sitting court side. We need him to have fun and stay positive.

One play Corey made on the defensive end that made an impression on me, besides the obvious ones was when he was picked off the guy he was guarding. The guy drove the right side of the lane where Lewis picked him up. Over the decades of watching Rutgers basketball our guards never seem to track back and get in the passing lane. Corey did, he switched to the center and when the guard tried to drop off a pass Corey deflected the ball out of bounds. For years this has been a pet peeve of mine, our guards get beat, our center switches over to stop the penetration and his man is wide open for an easy layup.

As far as the offensive side of the ball, you have to give Corey a little leeway. He is a freshman playing entire games, sometimes mental fatigue leads to decisions like taking an occasional bad shot. Been there done that myself.

Corey will learn and once we a full roster with more talent, Corey will get some needed rest. He has to work on his left hand some to be able to switch up his penetration, he tends to always drive to his right. But then again like I said he is a freshman, patience.

Hey, I'm a fan. I wasn't all that impressed early on but he has certainly shown his potential to be a star. He really stood out on the floor last night vs. all the players. Not just the Rutgers guys. As remarked by the announcers. His next job is making everyone else on the team better. Starting to see a bit of that too. If he and Williams can bust it together like that more often we can at least compete for now.

He makes an attempt most times to get thru the top side on screens. I kept hearing last year that Myles Mack couldn't....the answer is he wouldn't.

if Levert played, RU would have lost by 25 plus. Don't just assume the game goes the same just because one player missed it for RU. The whole approach by Michigan likely different. It seems like more than half the schools in this league are missing one of their top players

Levert wasn't there and injuries are part of the deal. Duke is probably saying that about Jefferson too.

Your delusional. I am starting to think you know less about basketball than I originally thought.

In the latest Rutgers Basketball show, Mike O'Koren stated that in his opinion Jonathan Laurent is the one guy he thinks is a NBA player.

Really. ..so Michigan missing a guy who leads the team in scoring at 17.4 ppg and is widely considered their best player wouldn't make a difference but Freeman would make a difference...got it. The whole point is its not just Rutgers missing players this year.

The whole point is Ru is missing 3 players and a frontline and shot blocker and rim protector. Michigan has 3 guys that do what Lavert does in Walton, Ervin, Muhammad and wing guys in Robinson and Dawkins . Ru has no one to replace Freeman. Michigan is 5-1 without Lavert. Your injuries are a part of the game mantra has to be looked at on a case by case basis. You are the only Rutgers supporter that doesn't see our situation as different than any other . Why , I do not know?

How about this...stop playing what ifs and saying Rutgers would win if we have this and that..we dont..deal with what we have..thats our reality..we have no idea what would happen if the roster was different or our opponents for that matter

Sanders is obviously a major talent. He's got a great handle and ability to beat people off the dribble combined with a good passing ability. In the 4 or 5 RU games I've watched, though, it seems to me that he needs to get a little less sloppy in his play on both ends.

Fig, there is not only one way to defend a screen. Toughness and going over does not always help your defense out. I just say this because I rememeber last year saying "Mack won't go over the screen, etc" If a teams ball handler is a good shooter, go over. If not, go under and don't chase him out.

And Stop being a negative drain on these boards preaching the same stuff.. Deal with reality. You cannot see the forest thru the trees right now. Others like me can. Stop with your high horse shit..I stand by my opinion and it is just an opinion that if we had our full roster we would be much more competitive this year and would have won more games. And I also believe we have a good chance of being 500 in the big 10 next year if everyone comes back and we have no transfers. You just spew nonsense. No coach is coming in here with our facilities and our 25 year NCAA drought and lighting it up. Baby steps and continue to recruit and the existing players get better as they will be another year older. Start rooting for that for a change. It will make the remaining people who come to these boards and bleed scarlet enjoy it a little better

Please get off your high horse...I dont need your lectures...the negative drain is 24 straight Big 10 losses and no wins vs top 250 wins since January of last year not me...deal with reality not ifs

wow...I hope I am wrong but I cannot see anything near this for Rutgers.

I will be here to stand by my opinion. I hope you are and will admit you were shortsighted if my opinion turns out correct. Our hire a coach for 5 years, fire, and re cycle has not worked. Unless we are throwing 2.5- 3.0 million at a capable coach that can overcome all our limitations , it will not happen easily.

I think our roster can win games next year, too.I will caution though, when your head coach says he doesn't practice rebounding drills, that is cause for concern.I still like our players, but I am unsure if Jordan is the right coach to lead us forward.

hey I like the enthusiasm and hope I am wrong. save this one. I'll (gladly) buy you a case of beer next year if RU goes 500 in league.
