This is not a bad matchup like Columbia. After this one it’ll be all sunshine and rainbows. Curious to see the line as I think the recent events of our season make this an easy easy covers.

Ivy League schools always shoot the 3 amazingly well. That said, Columbia was like 4 for 18 at one point and still took us to overtime

I explained this already and was right. Move along.

What a douchy response. Sorry I must’ve been the only one to miss your analysis before the Columbia game. Let me guess, you predicted Rutgers would should 2 for 19 from three as well?

But wait, now you’re going out on a limb and saying we should win easy against a 2-11 team from the American east? BOLD!

I’ll move along.

Really? Well somebody better tell that to Brown because they are barely making 31 percent of their three-pointers.

Yeah usually it’s going out on a limb when you say a team will struggle against a 3 win Ivy League team who loses their best player. Not sure how you missed it it was front and center for a week!

Love your “rationale”...

3PT Shooting:
Columbia shot 22.3% usually shoots 36.9% ( -14.6)

Rutgers shot 10.5% usually shoots 31.9% (-22.4)

FT Shooting:
Columbia shot 62.5 usually shoots 71.9 (-7.4)

Rutgers shot 69.2% usually shoots 62% (+7.2)

I didn’t bring shooting % up you did but at least present all the numbers. What we tell from them is then up for discussion.

Sorry for being a douche if I offended you.

Appreciate that! You didn’t offend me but also telling me to go kick rocks because I didn’t see a post of yours in a previous thread seemed douchy to me. But if that last line was genuine I genuinely appreciate it.

As for the analysis, I still wouldn’t define Columbia as a bad match up but agree to disagree. If we don’t smoke Maine I would be shocked. The talent gap should be massive.

I think it is a game we "should" win easily but the way our offense can go in the tank and disappear it may be a stretch to predict it will be an easy win. I wouldn't be surprised if it is but I wouldn't be surprised it it is closer than it should be either. Consistency is not an RU strong point. The only thing consistent is our defense but our offense is another story all together.

The opening line was 13.....so while 20 would have been nice, RU played poorly and Columbia had a good start and led by 10 at half. In a normal setting or expectations, the game was a 12 to 13 point game.

My fault, my English teacher did say to never use absolutes like “always” or “never” to make a point because they can always be disproven by outliers. What I should have said was, “traditionally, the Ivy League teams who find a way to upset power conference teams or make big runs in the NCAAs, often do so not because they have Star point guards who can drive to the basket or big monsters under the hoop to do alley-oops, but tend to do so more by shooting very often and very well, from 3-point range.”

Expected attendance?

Up north around 20 miles, a crowd of 10k+ is expected at night.

Granted it's a league game, but hope Pike can build this program up soon.
If the shoe was playing Maine it would be in their actual arena/orchestra concert stage with about 3k people there.

Criticizing Seton Hall attendance now? If we played Maine in the Barn, would we fill it? Hmmmm?

I never, ever will say anything against a D-I team will be an easy game. But if I was going to, this would be the one. Of course, I've been around long enough to remember thinking Brooklyn College was an easy game.

Don’t see a line yet in us books. Have a feeling Vegas is going to screw this one up - be ready.

RU..-22....total 122....basically saying 72-50 is projected score....Kenpom had around 19...in any event this is the fairest way to try and get a gauge on where Vegas believes this game should go.

Pike is very familiar with Maine from his time at Stony Brook. Might be an extra advantage. 22 points doesn't make a lot of sense with our recent play against similar opponents, but Vegas tends to get it right.

Damn I was thinking a 25 point win that’s a little closer than I thought they’d make it.

Didn’t Maine beat Fordham? I know RU is home, but still ... RU is RU.
