Let everyone you know involved in youth football know about this. Rutgers will host a FREE event on campus for youth football players, coaches, and staff at Rutgers Stadium, The Bubble, Hale Center, and practice fields. This is for kids through 8 th grade and everything is FREE. Rutgers players will provide instruction and facility tours, food, and refreshments. These are our future Rutgers students and athletes. Hopefully Rutgers will expand this to all sports and other areas such as youth music, theater, science, history, math, medical, etc. clubs. For more information, contact rmantz@scarletknights.com

Date and times?

And I hope they've sent e-mails and/or snail mail to youth leagues around the state publicizing this.

Mdk, It is June 23. It starts at 9:00 and runs to 1:30. I hope Rutgers has flooded the entire state with notices about this, including high school coaches who often have relatives and friends who are involved with the younger kids. We should have been doing things like this years ago. This is a great idea. I would also like to see Rutgers set up academic focused days for all high school athletes showing them not just our athletic facilities, but also have presentations by the academics, admissions staff, financial aid, etc.I would have these geared to all athletes in high school, since the large majority do not get athletic scholarships and many, like my nephews, that no longer compete in sports at the college level, but are very good students.

Would really like to see someone at N.J.com run a story about this event today or tomorrow to help get the word out.

Of course if the event doesnt provide organic kale juice, there will be a five part series “Rutgers has no regard for Children’s Health.”

Good Lord people...a simple little internet search will give you all the answers
