That "works on game" might be the reason she isn't getting playing time as a true freshman and needs to adjust her game from what it is to what it takes to start at the college level or at least earn minutes.I look forward to Maori making huge gains over the summer. the 5-spot will be wide open for her to grab next year if she works on her game.
Playing time needs to be deserved. Last game of the year when you need a signature win to cement your NCAA status and seeding in Big 10 tournament is not the time to play someone for development purposes. Not complaining. Just saying this was clearly not a development year for her after being touted as one of the top centers in the country coming out of high school. The way you get better is by playing against better competition,
Singleton's play has improved noticeable the last month and she is a 6'2" Redshirt Frosh F/C who is quicker and more athletic than Davenport. Davenport however is 2 inches taller stronger and better rebounder, both should improve the next few seasons. Look how much Wallace improved over the last few years. I never though she could come close to replacing Stasha Carey, but she has for the most part. Carey was more consistent, no doubt.
Same. Plus the two post recruits we have coming in will provide even more quality depth that we desperately need next year.Yes, and minus a few exceptions, post players usually take longer to adjust to college than guards. I'm excited to see both Singleton and Davenport's development.
