Using conference stats:

1) On 4 overall Offensive and Defensive team stats (Pass Efficiency and Run Average) the team most similar to them? This one shocked me, it is Northwestern (Illinois is also very comparable). Extremely close on both offensive categories, very close on pass efficiency against, only one different, Maryland tangibly better against the run.

2) In Maryland's 5 conference losses, 4 of the 5 opponents ran more then they threw. The 5th was nearly 50/50 mix (Penn State 2 more throws then runs). This includes Illinois and Northwestern who are usually throw 1st teams, but ran significantly more then they normally do.

3) They are 1-4 against B10 teams in the top 8 pass defense efficiency. Their one win? 13-10 over Nebraska.

4) They commit a lot of penalties but get a lot of penalties. They are ~net even (they are usually negative on this)

5) They have the worst net punting in the league

6) An odd one, teams have gone for it against Maryland 22 times on 4th down, and converted 16 times. The next most 4th down conversions given up is 9. They are however very good at 3rd down conversions.

7) Their pass defense is below average at completion % allowed and yards allowed per pass. However they are 2nd in the league in picks and 3rd in sacks

8) They are a good passing team (no surprise, 3rd in the league in efficiency) and the 2nd worst rushing team.

9) In their three B10 wins, they got 11 turnovers. 2 of the 3 it was the main driver of their big win.

10) In their 3 B10 wins, only 1 would be defined as a Tua "dominate" game, the win over Indiana. The other 2 wins were good but not great games for him.
