Awful half for Terps. 12 turnovers, 8-16 FT. Cowan 3-7 from the stripe!
Meanwhile, Wieskamp (18 pts) is 4-5 from downtown. It is all him and Garza (32 of their 38 points).
Iowa couldn't make shots at Nebraska but against Maryland at home its entirely a different story. This game is just another example showing the BIG is a home court league .It will be interesting to see how Michigan State performs on the road since they are considered the best team in the B1G.
Four home games plus a road trip to Northwestern.Michigan State is 5-0 but it seems like they've mostly played home games. If so, that will have to even out in the weeks ahead.
Bad effort from Maryland
They may have some issues with team bonding, my speculation as an outsider
Yeah the twins transferred, had their mom raking Turgeon over the coals on social media. They have good friends still on the team so it seems somewhat toxic there...a real shame.I heard them talking about that on the post game a couple weeks ago. They hinted at something serious but didn't elaborate so not sure what it was. Something about not respecting Cowan as a leader.
I get the point but they may have picked the wrong year to use losing to Rutgers as the reason to fire a coach.I got 5 text messages from Maryland fans saying some form of 'I hope Rutgers beats us in Xfinity Center. That might be what gets us a new coach.'
I pointed that out but they were quick to point out about the optics from a historical point of view.I get the point but they may have picked the wrong year to use losing to Rutgers as the reason to fire a coach.
Are you new here? This game is a cautionary tale for our game tomorrow. Any team — even good teams — can lose and look bad on the road. Just like Purdue got waxed the other night on the road and held to 37 points.
So if we lose by a large margin against Illinois, it doesn’t mean we suck or that the season’s over. It just means it’s REALLY difficult to play on the road in this conference.
They look completely unprepared on road gameg. Iowa is not impressive defensively but Maryland struggled to score 49 points.Maryland continues to underachieves in the worst way. There’s no reason for them to not be at least a 3 seed but they were flat at SHU with no Powell and yesterday was flat out ugly
