We are doomed!!Worst case scenario!
O’Brien will never return. He has burnt to many bridges. His star has really fallen with his performance at Alabama. How do you struggle offensively with that much talent? On top of that often time retread can not match the success that they had the first time they were at the school and it often leads to an ugly finish. Franklin not going anywhere so Rhule is not an option not matter how much the Paterno bots want him. They simply want him because he played for Paterno which to them is all that matters.Talked to a few PSU alums recently who said the sentiment is rising that Franklin had topped out. Growing support to get O’Brian or Rhule.

As much as I hate Penn state and Franklin, this is absurd. I believe you because I know that fanbase is absurdTalked to a few PSU alums recently who said the sentiment is rising that Franklin had topped out. Growing support to get O’Brian or Rhule.
Yeah must be nice to think about getting rid of a winning coach. Be careful what you wish for, JF signed a 10 year contract in 2022. Don’t think he is going anywhere.Talked to a few PSU alums recently who said the sentiment is rising that Franklin had topped out. Growing support to get O’Brian or Rhule.
A part of Penn State’s fan base will never forgive James Franklin for being Black. As much as I hate Penn state and Franklin, this is absurd. I believe you because I know that fanbase is absurd
I don't know about that, I think more important than race is his last name is not Paterno. If he were Joe's adopted son and his last name was Paterno, they would love him.A part of Penn State’s fan base will never forgive James Franklin for being Black.
Where did this come from?A part of Penn State’s fan base will never forgive James Franklin for being Black.
Edsel a perfect example. Majors at Pitt and Patrino at Louisville are another example.Retread? Oh yeah, what about Randy Edsall at UConn?
Exactly and some fans are still living in 80s thinking Penn State is some elite program and should be winning championships every year. They fail to recognize that it hasn’t been an elite program in two decades and was left to rot under Paterno. He failed to keep up with the times and with sanctions they had a lot of catch up to do.I don't know about that, I think more important than race is his last name is not Paterno. Left to rot ? In 3 of his final 6 years penn state won 11 games . Played in rose bowl and won the orange . Seemed pretty goodExactly and some fans are still living in 80s thinking Penn State is some elite program and should be winning championships every year. Like the hire but think the deal is too long, 8 years. The trend of ADs being fleeced by agents continues.Rhule has been officially announced as new coach
Like I replied in another thread. NU doesn’t care about the length of the deal. If it isn’t working he will get fired.Like the hire but think the deal is too long, 8 years. The trend of ADs being fleeced by agents continues.
Mickey Joseph offered Fran Brown’s son some weeks back. I wondered if that could be a harbinger of things to come for Rhule and Brown. I guess we’ll see. I’d think Phil Snow will join him as DC.Rhule loves himself some New Jersey talent. I wonder if he will try to cherry pick so of the players, from the Fran Brown recruiting class
He lived off of a lot of the work of Art Briles at Baylor… Temple is suspect and it was one year. NFL.. Flop…Did well at Temple and Baylor. May make Nebraska relevant again.
Parents or grandparents perhaps?Where did this come from?
Keep dreaming.Rhule will turn around Nebraska in two years and gain valuable B1G experience for when he takes over the Rutgers program in 2025 or 26.
Fair points. I thought for sure home grown Frost would turn it around. Nebraska lacks in state talent and needs a national rep to draw talent. That has slowly withered away. Alum and donor base, however, is strong. He lived off of a lot of the work of Art Briles at Baylor… Temple is suspect and it was one year. NFL.. Flop…
Lets wait and see… Nebraska has said the same thing since they hired Bill Callahan and then actually had a good guy in Bo Pelini and got rid of him! They have been floundering every since with all of their supposed advantages.
I’m not saying he won’t win but also not going to say this is the end of the word (especially for Rutgers). The Scott Frost’s drum was beaten in the same way and how did that turn out. Mike Riley too..
Isn’t Franklin buyout like $65 million?Talked to a few PSU alums recently who said the sentiment is rising that Franklin had topped out. Growing support to get O’Brian or Rhule.
just and ignorant comment that has no place on this board. grow up or get lostA part of Penn State’s fan base will never forgive James Franklin for being Black.
I talking the facilities and other things around the program. He was a figure head in the end and couldn’t even name half the players. They were lucky those years to have loyal assistants but most years they weren’t very good. To put in perspective Franklin had the best four year period in over two decades.Left to rot ? In 3 of his final 6 years penn state won 11 games . Played in rose bowl and won the orange . Seemed pretty good
What no 5 year plan?Rhule will turn around Nebraska in two years and gain valuable B1G experience for when he takes over the Rutgers program in 2025 or 26.
