"“If you look in the lifts, if you look in the runs, he’s always first,” defensive end Julian Pinnix-Odrick said. “He’s always working. He talks to motivate, but he doesn’t talk trash. Every time you turn around in practice, he is getting a long catch. He is everywhere. You never hear his name for not doing things.”"

Sounds like a mature kid. Hope this all works out for him on the field, but it already has for his education.

Flood mentioned him in the post-game comments yesterday, something along the lines of "don't count out Mathews" in the battle for the #2 spot.

This is how good programs get better. You have talented kids like Patton and Agudosi getting upward pressure from very talented and motivated walk-ons.

Seriously, if there's an indication that this program is on the rise, that's it. Right there.

add in guys like Anthony Davis and Brian Leonard hanging around practice and in the weight room. Talking, motivating, giving advice. Every little bit helps.

And - don't forget - AARON BRADY!!

For those too young to remember, Aaron was one of the hardest-hitting badasses to ever put on a Rutgers uniform.

Small for a D1 linebacker but could play the position well. He saved Rutgers the embarrassment of giving Temple their first BE win back in the day by taking down their QB short of the goal line. Next play Chad Bosch scampers 94 yards to a near TD to preserve the win - a rarity back in those heady Shea days.

I had the pleasure of meeting Aaron Brady during an outing at the RU golf course years ago. Really a nice kid and I believe he became a HS FB coach after his playing days.

[warning: crazy OT]
