The job was posted a couple months back. He is replacing former team member, Oliver Watney, who was hired just this past Fall.
Found the international recruiting aspect interesting. Moreso in Women's Golf but looking outside the US has been growing for years. The Illini Men have been the best team in the B1G for almost 15 years with the help of internationals such as PGA Tour or EuroTour members Thomas Detry, Matthis Bessard, Thomas Pieters, and Adrian Dumont de Chassart, Many rosters feature golfers from Europe, Mexico, Canada, and the Far East. For example RU Women have members from the UK, Canada (2), Italy (2), and Japan. The Men currently don't but have had members from Chile and Canada in the recent past.
With over 300 Men's teams and 285 Women's teams in D1 alone with roster sizes ranging from 7-10, it's a scramble to find enough good players.
