Just got off the phone with Miami Mike. He is allocating the ballroom for the Rutgers game. This will ease the overlap with the PSU game. The admission will be $25.00 per person, which I understand will include beer, brunch-type food, appetizers, and our own wait-staff. He is spending quite a bit to get this game pumped in. We need a good showing to make it worthwhile financially, and give him the impetus to do this for other Rutgers events. He suggests that you get there by 1:00pm and tell the desk that you are there for the Rutgers game. They will usher you into the private room. We will be able to watch the PSU game until ours comes on at around 2:00pm.

I have put this in the original thread and started this new one to make sure that everyone in North Jersey has an option to watch the game live.

He charges 25 every Saturday for the buffett. U don't have to pay for it..

Maybe he's requesting ru fans do this week to offset what he's paying to bring it in??

Not sure the last time you went there, but definitely not a PSU bar. There's fans of every team on Saturdays.

IIRC, the R in front of Miami Mike's went up after the 2006 season. Now, he may not be a Rutgers guy, may have just been trying to cash in on Rutgers new popularity, but it was definitely a Rutgers Block R.

Why would the Ramada R still be up if it's not a Ramada anymore?

It may have been a Ramada R once, but it's most definitely a Rutgers R now.

Either that, or Rutgers stole the Ramada logo.

Um, no, that's how it looks in person. Not a lot of charm and warmth, like it was decorated from Rickel's.

So it was a giant Ramada sign, with a sign for Miami Mike's Sportsbar below it, and then a small square block R attached to the Miami Mike's sign for "Ramada?" Even though they've never used that as a logo. And then, when the hotel changed and stopped being a Ramada, they changed the hotel sign, but left the Rutgers font block R up for no reason?

You seem very sure, but it makes no sense to me. The R is so faded now that you can't see it, but the sign is here (turn to the left). The R was on the square sign....if you rotate it you can still see it.

I have not seen the Ramada (or RU) R in person in quote a while.

Last time I was there was to root for the Kings vs the Rangers in the finals a few years ago.
It was awesome to see Mike and the Rags fans so distraught after they lost.
