Some high school kids just have that look all the time. I dont mean this to be a disrespectful question, but does this kid have that same condition Charlie Villanueva had where he's completely hairless? Like no eyebrows or anything?Kid looks thrilled
Alopecia, yesSome high school kids just have that look all the time. I dont mean this to be a disrespectful question, but does this kid have that same condition Charlie Villanueva had where he's completely hairless? Like no eyebrows or anything?
Love coach’s quote on this kid...” we have no one on our teamwith his size and skill set”...it would seem like we have a good chance in landing this kid.
I do wonder how hard we pushed for a commitment. As of right now we're his only high-major offer though I know there is interest. Seems like he decommitted from SLU in search of a bigger fish so we'll see what happens if more schools offer him now.
He didn’t say it to the media, he said it to the kid’s coach who relayed it to the media.I thought coaches were not allowed to mention particular players they are recruiting by name? Isn't saying that we don't have anyone on the roster with his skill set the same thing?
We are competing with Virginia, Illinois, Wake Forest, Northwestern, and Pitt for Pearson. The info that we are his only high major offer appears to have been wrong.
I know that Wake Forest has not offered Mickey Pearson.I don't believe any of those schools has actually extended an offer as of yet, but rather are just expressing interest. Maybe Russ Wood would know better.
Only that not enough of the people involved in the rankings and ratings have seen him. I saw him in Orlando but not much of him, definitely not enough to give Eric Bossi my opinion on how many stars I think he should have.Does the fact that the kid doesn’t have a Rivals star rating indicate anything?
That’s fine . Figure next year he wouldn’t have to play major minutes since Eugene and even Harper or Issa could play the 4. Could work him in slowlyWatched a game video of his from this year at Hargrave, he has potential but really needs to hit the weights.
Is he signing somewhere in the early period or waiting until spring
Hawk, I think playing time wise, this would be a really good fit for this kid. He’s kind of tweener but with Thiam graduating after next year, I could see this kid getting a lot of shots as a small forward in this line up.Is he signing somewhere in the early period or waiting until spring
Fall signing period has ended...he can commit to a school at anytime but cannot sign until the spring signing period.

Are these dates arbitrary and do they serve a legit purpose? Prevent in his distraction ?
For as long as I can remember Division I basketball has had an early signing period in November and a spring signing period that begins in April. Are these dates arbitrary and do they serve a legit purpose? Prevent in his distraction ?
Its likely in response to them reaching out to duke, unc, kentucky, Kansas, (and previously Louisville) to factor in what would work best for them. Are these dates arbitrary and do they serve a legit purpose? Prevent in his distraction ?
We didn’t get him because he didn’t want to be here. From what I recall we rolled out the red carpet when he didn’t have many big offers and he just sat with the offer until we cooled on him. I’m not saying I didn’t want this kid; I really did. But if someone is stalling; it’s because the answer is no unless something better doesn’t come along?Another RU whiff
