Tale of two halves once again. After we tied it with 6 min to go, I almost jumped through the screen yelling "don't let down, don't let down" & we did. At the games I bellow the same thing after we score. We need a leader on our team as well as our coaches screaming it from the top of their lungs. A tough way to learn. Be that as it may, this young team is talented & plenty tough. If we get into the NCAA's we'll see how we do. We'll see if we have anything left, physically & emotionally.

We got screwed by the refs again. Wiltshire was taken down in the box. No call. Tiernan was submarined to the turf. No call. Meanwhile, every ticky-tac contact is called against RU & our opponents are given free kicks. And the announcers were & are old guard establishment BIG TEN. And it showed in both the Northwestern & Minnesota games. We're going to have to overcome the refs & win in order to get the respect, & O'Neill & Co are going to have to let it be known that the're not going to take that sh*t. Hope win get in & do very well in the NCAA's. Nevertheless, already looking forward to next year with a year under our Freshmen's belts & an excellent recruiting class coming in.

Hate to say it ... But being an RU alum I am not surprised

The ref was bad/biased against RU, but, Sota dominated ball possession.
RU was lucky to be tied with 6 minutes left, but it was short-lived as the goalie did not react to the shot.

Just my $0.02, but while it is true that Minny seemed to get free kicks when we couldn't get a call, you have to expect that when the other team is totally controlling play. We were utterly dominated for vast stretches of game, never able to control possession for any length of time. Never able to sustain an attack. We were exceedingly lucky we were even in it late.

Then, to get lucky and get the equalizer and just collapse like that... its really unthinkable. They completely broke down. We are young, but its still disappointing because there was no reason they couldn't have gotten the job done. It looked like the fatigue that has plagued us all season became a factor again. I am sure having the later time slot on Friday and having to play in Minnesota took its toll.

I think fatigue may have been a factor also. I don't believe Jimenez had a chance with that laser.

Yeah, saying that goal was scored because Jiminez didn't react is a little bit silly. It was a laser from the top of the box put straight into the corner of the net. Even if she reacted perfectly, that was still a goal.

Agreeing that fatigue may have been a factor, you just can't let down in that situation. And actually we had the better of the play & pressure throughout the 2nd half.

IMO the last twenty minutes of the first half had a major effect. UM completely controlled the ball.

Our players were running their butts off playing defense, so they were tired entering the half. Then they had to run their butts off for 30 minutes of the second half trying to tie the score.

The tank was close to empty by the time we scored the goal. The first few minutes after any goal are always a crucial time for playing defense, and we were slow in recognition.

I am proud of the girls.

I hope we don't get screwed like the men's lacrosse team did last spring after knocking off JHU twice. NW should definitely get in as, IIRC, RU is the only team to defeat them, and did it twice. Hopefully, those wins along with wins over PSU, UConn, and St. Joe's, and a few other good teams will do the trick.

Just finish watching final game. No way the goalie could have stopped that last goal. If anything, she made some good saves and kept them in the game. She also was key to the Penn State win and North Western win.
