More special funding proposed for South Jersey Colleges

"...by investing in Stockton, the state is sending the message to college students who might be tempted by Villanova or Drexel."

Yeah, okay. Lol

And as mentioned in the comments section the author conveniently omits she is a graduate and her husband is employed by Stockton.

Nothing against Stockton, but a kid is going to pick Nova or Drexel every time if they can financially swing it. Both schools have more clout and prestige in NJ and Philly than Stockton.

Exactly.

Hopefully with the AC campus Stockton starts (if they haven't already) a Hospitality Management program. They have "laboratories" and intern possibilities all over the place.

Stockton is in a really rural area. I kinda like it, being the outdoors type that I am.

You are probably right, but the "if they can financially swing it" part is important. Nova and Drexel are both super expensive private schools.

For me Stockton was my backup in case I wasn't accepted to Rutgers (was never interested in Glassboro State/Rowan). As a South Jersey resident I think it would be nice for kids in the area to have a good local option. Not everyone can get in to Rutgers.

I agree 100 percent. It would actually strengthen RU academically if schools like Stockton were an option for NJ students, especially South Jersey. RU could then increase their academic standards in state.
