More Visits

If nothing else, Pike is doing an outstanding job of getting high-major recruits in the 2019-2021 classes to take unofficial visits. This is one of the benefits of having been done with recruiting for 2018 for many months -- except for the effort to land Hyatt as a bonus 2018 recruit -- and only having the need for one more recruit for 2019 with Young and Mulcahy already in the fold.

Posters in the know.... It seems we're getting way more unofficial visits than usual. Is that true or is it just being publicized with Twitter better this year?

It seems the caliber of recruit is also higher

It's flat out unreal. We now have something to show and a coaching staff who has produced results on the court over the last 2 years. Anyone can see the trend now.

It's very exciting as we only have 3 spots for 2020 so these initial visits mean a lot.

Pike is not missing a beat When you are coaching Rutgers you have to be proactive persistent and a little but lucky. I give him an A for effort and so far a B for performance which is a lot better than the F grades I gave to EJ on both counts

Likely a little bit of both.

Getting kids on campus early is important. Lots of ways to do it: Team Camp, Elite Camp, unofficial visits in the offseason and invited to games during the season.

School hasn't started yet up North so kids are available for visits during the week.

Also AAU programs LOVE their kids getting visits because it helps them recruit kids to their AAU programs. So many AAU coaches will push for visits.

@Russ Wood any idea what's going on with Trey Patterson from Rutgers Prep? I know it's super early but is he a one and done type kid that'll probably go to a top 5 program or is he someone we can sway?

Talented kid, solid five-star prospect. Right now I don't have the slightest idea what's going on with Trey Patterson's recruitment other than who has offered. Six months from now I'll have a better feel.

One-and-done may not exist by the time he graduates.

Pretty awesome that Tahjay Moore is from New Brunswick.

I would cheer extra hard for that kid. Big fan of New Brunswick.
