The obvious choice is the St. John’s game from back in the day

The other is the one where the guy caught the ball from out of bounds to make a game winning shot? Can’t remember which team but that got a LOT of attention in the media. Likely cost us an NCAA if I remember correctly?

Beyond that - what other games are up there?

This is a contender IMHO

Funny thing - another candidate that comes to mind (ALSO against Michigan) - the refs call ticky-tack foul-after-foul-after-foul on Myles Johnson to get him out of the game, which resulted in a big UM come back and win. Sound familiar?

You’re thinking of the 2022 game vs. Ohio State which I think was the worst missed call in my lifetime.

That was a blatant missed call right in front of the ref that did cost us the NCAAs. BIG office came out and admitted it was a missed called.

Tonight was up there but it was different. It was a well orchestrated effort of bs calls over the course of a half to help Michigan get back into it, culminating in multiple missed calls in front of the refs with seconds left.

Of course there is St. Johns, OSU, and now this game on the Mens side, but the other one that comes to mind is the women playing @Tennessee back in 2008 where the clock stopped/paused for about 2 seconds at the end of the game, and UT wins it with 0.2 to go when the game should have been over already: https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/news/story?id=3243053

Agree that is actually far worse than even the St. John’s game

All of the men’s games you can attribute to gross incompetence but THAT tennesee thing was a whole other level- inarguably purposeful

The OSU debacle was doubly bad because the refs actually reviewed the play. I assume you can only review for one thing? They chose to focus solely on whether he got the shot off in time.

Seems like you should be able to review the entire catch-and-shoot sequence, to see if it was even a legal shot.

Watch the replay and you’ll see Cliff immediately run up to the ref while pointing to the sideline. He must’ve been telling the ref that the shooter jumped in from out of bounds. That being the case, why didn’t the refs review for that too?

The gave us the 3pt call at the end of the game. If they were fixated on us losing, doubt they'd call it. They definitely helped bring Michigan back, but Rutgers had many opportunities to keep them at bay. Instead we went back to shit ball, shit coaching. Michigan took advantage

OSU was truly insane as they missed multiple violations on the same play. First one was OSU player stepped on the line (think it was Thornton maybe) while dribbling in the backcourt just before passing the ball. Then he passed the ball to a player, Tanner Holden, who had been standing out of bounds and was then the first player to touch the ball after Thornton passed the ball. This was a violation. Two violations on same play, first Thornton foot on the line and second Holden, the player who was essentially illegal to be the next player to touch the ball after Thornton gave it up. That one was the Double RU Screw.

Lesson learned Rutgers shouldn't expect referees to make calls to ensure wins happen.Instead, Rutgers should build a lead so that a last second shot won't impact the final result.Rutgers is a flawed team at both ends of the court which translates into many close games and disappointing losses.

How about offsides call on our kicker in the Garden State Bowl where we recovered the kick in the end zone for a TD that was ultimately waved off.
