I agree, The RU Screw is an intergenerational phrase the has real meaning for alumni and current students alike.RU gets SCREW
Jerseyans and RU grads (and some on this board) seem fixated on the negative. Even when positive threads are made, negative posts are added to the thread. What you said about institutional incompetence is 100% right. Working through the bureaucracy of Rutgers was a free four year course in how to navigate through corporate and government life that no adult can escape. Free!!!!Never liked the RU Screw. It gives the false pretense that bad things will only happen at Rutgers, when in fact, all college students encounter some form of institutional incompetence. It’s a Jersey thing, where people like to dwell on the negative. If students think an RU screw is bad, wait until they enter adulthood and have to deal with corporate stupidity or government bureaucracy.
How about:One of the suggestions when they were replacing "Jersey and you, perfect together"
"Jersey. You got a problem with that?"
I never found Rutgers to be especially bad with bureaucracy, no worse than any other large organization. And, in fact, their inefficiency let me stay in nice apartments on Cook campus for 3 years even after I had switched colleges. I get tired of that whine.Never liked the RU Screw.
