Winkler Claims USATF National Hammer Throw Title
Graduate student Rudy Winkler claimed the USA Track & Field Championship title in the hammer throw on Saturday evening in Des Moines, Iowa. Winkler registered a throw of 73.76m (242') to top the nation's bests at the 2018 USATF Outdoor Championships hosted at Drake University.
With the victory, Winkler has earned a spot on the USA team for the 2018 NACAC Senior Area Championships. The championship is set for August 10-12 at the Varsity Stadium in Toronto, Canada.
