NCAA Rule Change Affects Blocking FGs

The NCAA passed a rule before the season outlawing defensive players from running toward the neutral zone to leap or hurdle in an attempt to block a field goal. It previously only was a penalty if the offending player landed on someone else and risked injury.​

I didn't realize this, but it explains why there's less effort to do those leaping blocks on FGs.
