NCAA Wrestling Championships..

With the championships almost upon us...(damn this season flew by!!) Post your thoughts, expectations, and what you are most looking forward to this weekend...

Just still cant believe that only in 2nd year as a B1G member, that RU qualified the entire team for the NCAA's!! Still a long ways to go to get to the upper echelon of the B1G... But this program is just scratching the surface of what it can become!! In the meantime, I do expect to see all of our boys step up and get after it this weekend, and make some noise!! Really looking forward to seeing to seeing R guy wrestle their absolute best, and hold nothing back!!

Hoping to see AP competing at 100%. If by some miracle that happens, I am expecting to see us finish quite a bit higher in the standings than people predict.

Its pretty clear between midlands and the Big Tens that this team is game for tournaments. Something seems to have changed for the better - where our guys outperform instead of underperform. Hoping that plays out again this weekend.

I think a lot of it is mindset.. They're not in awe of the B1G anymore...They're also not fazed when going into the wrestle-backs... Think the coaches have done a great job getting them refocused..

Excellent coaches working with a group of talented and dedicated athletes. This team is a great example of what Rutgers/ New Jersey is capable of when everybody stays focused and works together. I hope that our guys get a chance to really enjoy the next week. They have earned it.

I'm expecting a finishing score for my Alma Mater, RU , in the top 15 (RU wasn't in the top 20 in last years Nationals), I'd love to see a top 10 finish but probably not realistic. I expect Anthony Ashnault to finish in the top 3 with a Gold Medal (1st place) very realistic. I expect Anthony Perrotti to make All American again , if his injury doesn't reoccur. I expect Richie Lewis , Nick Gravina ,and Billy Smith to get close to All America status (top 8) if not sneak in in the 7/8 bout. I expect one of our non seeded wrestler to shock the fans and get close to AA (who ?), I expect all our Wrestlers to win at least 1 bout. And I expect our team to come out focused, well conditioned, and ready to have fun and take care of business !

No 0-fors and I'm good. If each guy wins at least one, that's a pretty good team accomplishment.

If 5 or 6 make it to the round of 12 I'd be ecstatic.

2 or more AAs and it's a hell of a weekend. I honestly believe that 4 is within reach. This team is that talented.

I don't see Ashnault losing. My guess is RU finishes 12th this year and the future is very bright...

I agree with this for the most part. Very good breakdown and how I would feel with each accomplishment reached. My expectations
8 of 10 win at least one match--- good accomplishment
4 or 5 make it to the round of 12-----I'd be ecstatic
