Very sad our tailgate just got cancelled 6 in our group have decided not to go. Just me and my wife will be attending. I thought they were loyal sons as they have attended almost every game for the last 6 years. Very sad day for me just got the call this morning had the menu all planned out too. I feel like a downtrodden wet puppy dog right now.

Two had family business to attend to(at least that's what they told me), the other four just couldn't stomach it anymore. They were all at my house for the Michigan game and all left right after halftime. Some of the guys were really pissed. I should have expected it. I've got them all locked into the Army game though as we are taking the Sea Streak and they already have been told absolutely no refunds.
 
Have had cancellations in my group as well.

This thread is normally a two pager on its first day.

This is a great indication of the huge amount of empties we will see the next two home games...and if the admin is audacious enough to bring Flood back.

Gotta admit, that we are going extremely basic. Just Burgers/Dogs and side salads. Fortunately everyone in the group is still going to the game....the enthusiasm has taken quite a hit though.

Menu being streamlined somewhat.
4 in our Group dropped out for Saturday.
Can't wait to see the crowd at the last game vs. Maryland.

Group of 20 plus backed out. Only about 4 will be attending game. Mostly due to being fed up. Therefore, keeping it simple---subs and beer.

actually, I gave him my recipe for the clams with wine and chorizo. :-)

our menu consists of:

sausage & peppers,
grilled chicken BLT wraps,
pulled pork,
ribs
skirt steak
grilled shrimp cocktail
eggplant Parmesan
hot dogs
boneless chicken bites
onion dip & spinach dip and chips
full dessert bar including homemade R cookies.

Rutgers Punch
full bar
no bartender this week.

Knight, what's your approach on the clams? We get them fresh from the next bay over, but I'm looking for the best ways to make them. They're littlenecks (they call them cockles down here, but they're littlenecks.)
 
For the groups doing cheesesteaks (and grilled cheese). Do you use some type of cast iron flat-top attachment? Or do you bring pans and throw them on the grill?

It all depends on your taste. My personal favorite is clams casino. Just pop them open, put some bacon and chopped peppers on top and then just throw them underneath the broiler until the bacon crisps up. Squeeze some lemon on top and then enjoy. I could eat those all day long.

I'm too lazy to grill. Plenty of beer, vodka and sandwiches from Massimo's in Kenilworth.

It's a little pricey and you can get a perfectly serviceable griddle to go over your grill for less, and it is a little heavy. But this thing makes your standard propane BBQ into a cooking surface any short order cook would be proud to put his spatula to.
