Nebraska Just Got Jobbed

Just saw that. This is a joke. Even after review they called it targeting and he was ejected. I don't get it. That ref needs to be suspended. What is the Nebby player supposed to do? Something needs to be done this offseason. Defensive players should not be ejected for that. I've seen too many plays in which a defensive player has been ejected that should not have been

Not enough threads containing the word "jobbed" today

I guess using "robbed" is no longer Internet forum cool...kind of like using the non-word "prolly" instead of probably and the many issues of "should of" instead of should have...

So much much for the first amendment. Let them post what they want, why is it up to the mob here to dtermine what people type? You don't like it, don't read it. I agreed the robbed or jobbed Nebraska went 0-1 on that call (speaking of another over used phrase here).

Speaking of words that are not proper usage, the only place I hear trickeration is on ESPN. They used it a lot on the Nebraska-UCLA broadcast, and the guy using it, Rod Gilmore, graduated from Stanford and has a law degree from Cal Berkley.

I saw that replay 10 times. I'm not sure how else he should have tackled that guy. Red on field and in replay booth should be fired immediately.

I can understand why the call on the field happens sometimes..its just sooo fast...but its replayed for a reason...and that totally failed...it was clear to practically everyone except the guy with the monitor that the only intent by the Nebraska player was to AVOID helmet to helmet contact!! I could even understand the call, if he lead with his shoulder and forearm...BUT HE WRAPPED UP!! Hopefully whoever upheld this call never gets to call another replay ever again.... Really is a shame this young man had his bowl experience taken away from him by an incompetent replay official...

I agree with Jersey Devil. Problem wasn't call on field. I could see someone making that call given speed of play, angle ref had, etc. however, replay ref totally blew it. At that point it wasn't looking good for Nebraska given that call and the missed face mask which probably contributed to the fumble.

Well said - I can see missing the call in real time, but I was flabbergasted that the review said targeting. Insane. Might as well play touch.

I would be a lil more understanding if the call "stood" But it was CONFIRMED!! That's what makes this all the more maddening..

Seems to me that the term "targeting" implies intent.

But the way the rule has been enforced this year, the refs charge defenders with a targeting penalty even when contact is clearly unintended and/or unavoidable.

It's ridiculous and drives me nuts.
