I'm not as confident on Mucius and RU and not as confident on his offensive game as a shooter....he's freakishly athletic, but while RU has Mucuis still on the radar, I'm not sure where he is now on recruiting (Xavier and others like Oregon lurking).
I think having Carey on campus twice in the last 2 months is helpful, but that's a tall hill to climb, but we are making headway there more than people realize.
Any combination of those 2 guards/wings with Doucoure and perhaps a McClung type of player that may bubble up after the July period would be program changing in depth and balance of the class. It's not always where the rankings land, it's the fit and style of the player and how RU wants to play.....As much as recruiting rankings matter, we have kids targeted that may land outside of the "top 150", that are excellent fits for how we want to play on both ends of the court.
Mathis and Doucoure with any two players (Frankie Policelli or Jimmy Nichols with Jalen Carey or Zegarowski or McClung would be game changers) sets the table for 2018 in the spring if any other roster spots open and 2019 as well.
These are 4 year players that are talented and extend the building process for RU, where they impact over an extended period of time, exactly what you want for a rebuild on the fly.
