Leonte Carroo, Rutgers career leader in touchdown catches, arrived Dec. 27 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he will spend the next eight weeks training for the biggest moment of his life.

Ahead of a Senior Bowl appearance Jan. 30 and a NFL Combine invitation, Carroo's first priority is to get healthy after missing almost exactly half of his senior season but still leading the Big Ten with 10 touchdown receptions.

Here is Carroo's first-person account of his first week:

This is the third entry of an exclusive Gannett New Jersey series in which former Rutgers star Leonte Carroo will chronicle his journey to the NFL as told to beat writer Ryan Dunleavy. "Draft Diary" will run occasionally between now and the NFL Draft.

When I saw my girlfriend fighting, I grabbed my girlfriend and brought her inside. A girl got pushed to the ground by someone else and she said that I pushed her to the ground. It was just a big misunderstanding.
Later it was proven that I had nothing to do with it. That’s on record in the court room in Piscataway. That’s why the case was dismissed and I was exonerated two weeks later. They realized I had nothing to do with the case and it was keeping me out of the game that I love.

How do senior NFL prospects complete the Spring term at school if they're not there?

Hmmm, I wonder why Leonte needed to do 6 hours of anger management if all that he did was bring his girlfriend inside? Also, I don't think he would have been suspended by Flood if that was the case. I think that LC is taking advantage of a fortuitous outcome to the charges and the lack of one version of the truth. That said, the charge of domestic violence was a technicality and unfortunate labeling for something like this.
