Nice Jonathan Pollock tweet

Pollack is a true Rutgers man. He has been with us and unwavering in his support.. He will be easy to root for
I think the kids great. Both on and off the field he has his head on straight. But for the life of me I think a "Rutgers man" is the dumbest and corniest freaking thing ever. What is a "Rutgers man". Someone who doesn't break the law and goes to class. It's such a stupid term that Schiano invented and I hope it goes away along with FAMILY AND chop.

Yeah, at Michigan, the "Michigan Man" thing has become as anthropologically significant as the Kennewick Man.

Great picture. From one Jonathan to another, "Can't wait to see you play!" Looks like Coach Ash could play too.

1. Digging that rugby shirt
2. Ash looks like he can strap it on today and go hit some people
If Pollocks listed 5'11'' height is correct HCCA can't be more than 5'9''....we know JP is much stouter...230 area i'm guessing and HC 185 I'm assuming....JP will make a nice MLB....

The term "Rutgers Man" has been around a lot longer than Greg Schiano's time. My grandfather, like me, is a Rutgers grad. He talks about being a Rutgers man when I was in elementary school back in the 70's.

Don't let the facts get in the way of another "RU fan" taking a dig at GS. You can be sure that the block R will be credited to someone else since that will stick.

Didn't know that. But what does it literally mean? I'm a alum and fan and it makes no sense to me

It was not, and never was, a Schiano-ism.

It means that you are a quality individual, since only good men would go to Rutgers, or what ever school.

Pollock remains me of the kind of LB's that Iowa or Wisconsin get. Steady and sure tacklers....always around the ball.

I agree FAMILY needs to fade away, but chop, Rutgers man and the Block R can stay.

What's the story behind Pollock's recruitment? Online it seems he was a Miss state commit at one point. Glad it worked out in our favor.

It is by no means just a Rutgers thing. People at Dartmouth would call refer to it as being a Dartmouth Man. People at Lehigh would say "he's a Lehigh Man."

It just means that the person exhibits the best qualities, qualities that make someone a great representative of their school. Loyal, passionate, successful, driven, etc.

It's a very good thing to be a Rutgers Man.....and as others have chimed in, Greg Schiano has absolutely ZERO to do with the phrase. It was used before he was even born. It was being used before anyone on this planet currently.... was born.

They look like classmates! Love the tweet.
I know this is off topic but I love your profile pic you been on freeboard often I feel like I've never seen anyone with the Bayern logo and I'm a huge FC Bayern Münich fan
