Congratulations to Nick and to his coaches and teammates and the entire RU nation. This is fantastic. Now I hope Anthony can win as well.

Congrats to Nick and Anthony! Thank you to both of you, your team mates and staff. Finally get to enjoy some nice things.

Love this quote from Suriano ...

“I didn’t quit. That’s my message to all the youth: Don’t quit,” said Suriano.

The cool thing about 2 champions is each gets an awesome first;

Nick: I was the first champion.
Anthony: But I was the first undefeated champion.

Next year?

Nick: I am the first 2x champion :).

Years later:

Anthony: I am the first Olympic Champion.

Great answer to this question by AA:

Q. Anthony, you were the first four-time, undefeated New Jersey champion. You were the first Rutgers four-time All-American, and I'll give you tied for first even though Nick technically --
ANTHONY ASHNAULT: Nah, he's first. I had three chances. I didn't get it done.

Nick: but I’m the first RU trained MMA champ.

When Nick made that last second escape I was yelling so loud at the TV. When he got the TD I jumped so high it seemed like it to forever to land. Great job Nick! Thank you for bringing a National Championship to Rutgers!
