You made a wise decision :D

That's not what their won SU players were saying on twitter, one of their QBs was raving about Solomon and how he wanted to play with him.

Is it possible that they wanted him to commit right there and not go to RU on Monday and when he said NO, they said the offer was not commit able?

Sounds possible. Welcome aboard Mr Manning!

Welcome to the Banks!

For those that have seen him play, what's the word on him? The prior threads seemed to indicate an off camp or something like that. Overall seems like a great get.

He didn't perform particularly great in some of the clips from Rivals camp back in April in NJ. Rated a top 15 player in NJ by Rivals and 247, has good size and his highlight reel jumps at you in terms of his tackling and he excels on kickoff coverage, which is a great way to play early.

Regardless of how much you want to dis Syracuse, what's their sales pitch have to do with it? Apparently, they didn't like Manning enough to even offer him, or they figured they had no shot. No sales pitch necessary.

That could be significant in itself. I'd prefer to believe the latter. 3* are significant. Maybe tehy have other irons in the fire @ LB, and prefer not to devote the effort

They provided the kid a commitable offer in April. This offer did not go away and they were pursuing the kid. If you believe what the Syracuse fans are stating on message boards, I have a bridge to sell you.

Exactly, the kid had a Sewercuse offer for months, by other SU player accounts the kid was outstanding at their place. They wanted him to commit and not go to RU on Monday. He didn't commit so the SU twitter reports are spinning that he did not have an offer. Yet they accepted a commit from a 5'11 185lb Linebacker last week who had no P5 offers.

So you believe that they did not want Manning. Get real.

I'm pretty skeptical of the Syracuse story. Anything is possible and the kid did go there this weekend. But Syracuse has not recruited well in years, they are dying to have a presence in NJ, they have only like 5 commits and none of them are linebackers. So the Syracuse story is that they had a kid up, whom they've been recruiting and offered in April, who had an ultimatum from RU and Cuse suddenly pulled the offer or somehow made the offer conditional. The Syracuse condition was probably: commit now or the offer is gone.

I know that the Syracuse athletic department has a rich tradition of lying and cheating but i suspect the Cuse trolls here don't even believe this story but are happy to play the part of irritants instead.

Congrats and welcome Solomon to your Rutgers FAMILY.

RU has been fortunate to get some very good players who are also great people from Colonia.

That's my Alma Mater you're talking about. Go Patriots!

Congratulations, Solomon! Enjoy your senior year, work hard, and welcome to the Banks!

Sarah made him an offer. He denied Sarah. Sarah will try to flip him but can't.

Nothing more to say about this story other than sour grapes. Expect more of it as the recruiting season plays out and we continue to eat their lunch, as we have for the last decade.

6'2" 200 lb with offers from North Carolina, Pitt, Syracuse(?) , Buffalo, Old Dominion, Army and a slew of FCS schools.

And Syracuse now wants to insist that while they might have made an offer - but it was not "committable" - yeah... seriously doubt that it was not executable - all he had to do to convert it to "committable" was to have said "Syracuse"

Syracuse fans will go through the 5 Phases of Grief on this one, because that's their M.O.

Right now they're saying that Manning never had an offer.

A month from now they'll be saying that Flood cheated to get Manning to commit, and calling him "Son of Shady" or some such nonsense.

They are sad, strange little people aligned with a sad, strange little school that boasts an empty basketball arena as a home field, shitty weather and women too depressed to bother cleaning themselves up a little for a Saturday night "go to town".

What do you expect from a school that has its Stadium named after an Air Conditioning company, but not have the stadium air conditioned .[eyeroll]

Sarah is so sure of their LB recruiting that they wouldn't let a guy commit who they offered a scholarship to, along with other P5 schools. So much so, that they very next day after losing out on Manning they decide to :
