just saw on Twitter that Sam Blue will transfer out? I think we pulled him from Georgetown. So bright kid with other alternatives I bet.

The train wreck of 14 continues tho.

At least it's good news that a G'town football recruit isn't able to stay on the RU roster.

Why is this "no surprise"? Because he had no big offers? I actually liked this late addition.

I would transfer out too if I was him... He tons of competition for DE time on this team and a lot of the talent is young (Turay is Sophmore and Ford is a Freshman and those are just the big names. We also have a lot of other solid potential DE players on the roster/coming in this summer as well as a lot of solid potential 2015 and 2016 DE recruits that would then be coming up behind him.) I am not surprised he left.... it is going to tough for playing time only the best of the best will be able to get some.

Granted unless he thinks he is making it to the NFL.... he will be missing out on getting the Rutgers diploma which would benefit him for the rest of his life. That is definitely a downside to transferring out for him.

Huh? He originally committed to G'town. I am guessing he is downgrading football and upgrading the diploma.

For his sake.... I hope he is upgrading and going to like Harvard or Stanford or something and not downgrading and going to like a Marshall or Western Michigan or some school like that in search of playing time.

Might I suggest the great Colgate Univeristy for Mr. Blue. Great academics, great football and he won't have to sit out a year.

You got a link for this? Haven't seen it tweeted by any of the writers and the school hasn't sent out a press release.

The original tweet was deleted. So this may still be a rumor. Probably not the best to have posted off of it. There were two tweets to his dad asking about also. From around the time the first tweet went up and they are gone now too.

So maybe it is a surprise even to Sam

Sam Blue played some nose tackle during the spring game. I was surprised to see a 6'2" 240 lb DE playing NT. I know with Joseph and Hamilton not playing in the spring game there were some position changes. Maybe he does not like where he is being played.

Seemed like a good kid and family, I wish him well. Wonder if he wants to be closer to home?

Not surprised at all. I had the feeling that we had an opening on signing day and gave the kid a chance......

Best of luck to the young man. I was actually thinking he would get a shot at some playing time.

And as always, our classiest, know it all posters come in with very classy well wishes to the young man. smh

Quite a few on here were rationalizing how awesome those February commits were at the time. Daily, Blue, Rescigno, Margolis. Sure no other offers, but everyone one of them were a diamond in the rough.

Wow, giving these kids 2 semesters to prove themselves otherwise they have no talent?

Daily may have been a starter this year.
Rescigno is behind 2 4* players (per espn).
Margolis looked pretty good in the spring game as a first year lb.

But according to you there are all busts.
