Notre Dame goes down...

Kelly then basically melted down in his press conference blaming the players and saying coaching was not a reason they lost today.

His seat just got infinitely warmer today.

I would take him in a second!! He took Cincy to two or three BCS games and ND to a NC game!! However I agree, he is a raging lunatic.

Kelly is a hothead, but he seems like the only kind of coach that works there.....if they can him, they could be screwed for many years.

But I can envision him getting canned bobby gonzalez-style for upsetting the priests with his public behavior.....but only if the team continues to struggle.

Watching Ped State lose was pretty sweet, but holy crap, Notre Lame losing to Duke. That's just great. How the hell are they going to justify ranking them in the top 25 now?

Are you kidding? The media love the Frenchies so much I'm not sure they are out of the playoffs, let alone the top 25, until they lose at least four games. ;)

Amazing how wrong the experts are with ND. Pre-season and week-to-week. The experts always err on the side of success when it comes to Notre Dinero.

They were 10-2 last year in the regular season with losses to Clemson and Stanford on the road. So let's not act like they were 6-6 last year.

This ND team should be a Top 15 team at a minimum. The coaching, especially on defense, has been atrocious.

Last year, ND was horrible. They only beat one ranked team the entire year. That was Navy who was ranked #20 at the time they played. I believe Navy fell out of the rankings by the end of the year. Yet, they remained ranked the entire year while they didn't perform better than half of all the teams.

All that history, all those resources, all that recruiting...and you lose to Duke football at home. Yes you play a tough national schedule ND and I realize Duke is the best they've been since Spurrier coached there but still...its Duke Football. In South Bend. Just join the ACC already...those schools ARE indeed your peers. You will never be the national powerhouse you once were.

Tough national schedule?
Nevada, Duke, Syracuse, N.C. State, Navy in Jacksonville,
Army in Texas.
Only three true road games.
Some big names who are not national title contenders anymore:
USC, Texas, Miami. Doubt that even two of their opponents end up top 10.

We may play three and no one gives us credit.
