Only one team gets to win their last game in this tournament, everyone else feels the sting of that last loss for a few days. But now that some time has passed... WOW what a season. I've been following RU lacrosse since I first started watching the sport as a freshman at RU in 1979. No other season has come close (well maybe last year) to being as fun, as exciting, and making everyone proud to be a Scarlet Knight. Steve Politi, who infuriates me often, once wrote a great column about the difference between being a pro sports fan and a college sports fan. I'm paraphrasing but he said, "The difference is this. You could be the biggest Giants fan in the world, but you'll never be a Giant. But if you graduated from Rutgers, if you have that diploma on the wall, you'll always be a Scarlet Knight". And the 2022 RU men's lacrosse team made us all proud to be Scarlet Knights.

Hear hear. Incredible season. We will get to the apex someday and these are the seasons that help get us there. The players and coaches have a lot to be proud of. When we hoist that trophy, and some day we will, there are going to be a lot of kids that through hard work and belief turned this smoldering fire into an inferno. It’s a process. Celebrating these huge milestones is very important.
