The study I saw came to the conclusion Lotteries have traditionally been recession proof. Same can't be said about Casinos and Pari-Mutuel wagering. Can you really assume a trend based on one particular lottery? Is Powerball the one that's been plagued by scandal recently? If so, that could be a factor too.
