The Office of Special Counsel recommended Thursday that Kellyanne Conway be fired from the federal government for violating the Hatch Act on “numerous occasions.”

The Hatch Act is a federal law that limits certain political activities of federal employees.

The OSC, which is separate from the office with a similar name previously run by Robert Mueller, said in a scathing report released Thursday that White House Counselor Conwayviolated the Hatch Act by “disparaging Democratic presidential candidates while speaking in her official capacity during television interviews and on social media.

“Ms. Conway’s violations, if left unpunished, would send a message to all federal employees that they need not abide by the Hatch Act’s restrictions. Her actions thus erode the principal foundation of our democratic system—the rule of law,” the OSC said in a statement Thursday, noting that Conway has been a “repeat offender.”

One can only hope that Kellyanne has been teaching them about "alternative facts" and that breaking the law is not a crime.

I have a friend who goes to the same church as Kellyanne Conway. Says that she is a very nice person. Some people have a job to do, and they do it. Does not mean they are bad people because you disagree with their politics.

That aside, I am not an expert on the Hatch Act, but Wikipedia (which is not authoritative) states:
Permitted and prohibited activities for employees who may not participate in partisan political activity

    These federal employees may:
    • register and vote as they choose
    • assist in voter registration drives
    • express opinions about candidates and issues

The OSC stated that in one Feb. 19 interview on "Fox & Friends," Conway “insinuated that Senator Booker was ‘sexist’ and a ‘tinny’ ‘motivational speaker,’” and claimed Warren, D-Mass., was “’lying’” about her ethnicity. Conway also “attacked” O’Rourke for not “thinking the women running are good enough to be President.”

Not quite clear what she said/did is a violation.

Can someone please explain without attacking, name-calling or innuendo?

She falls into the first category from what I can tell, those that are permitted to participate in partisan political activity.

Problem here is she is doing so in her official capacity/role. If she were doing it as a private citizen, then no problem, she can have all of the opinions she wants and talk to her friends/nieghbors. But here she is appearing on TV as a senior advisor (taxdollar-paid), and effectively participating in a political campaign.

"These federal and D.C. employees may not: (bolding below is mine)
      • use official authority or influence to interfere with an election
      • solicit or discourage political activity of anyone with business before their agency
      • solicit or receive political contributions (may be done in certain limited situations by federal labor or other employee organizations)
      • be candidates for public office in partisan elections
      • engage in political activity while:
        • on duty
        • in a government office
        • wearing an official uniform
        • using a government vehicle
    • wear partisan political buttons on duty"

Not while she or any federal employee for that matter is acting in a professional capacity. Make a speech? Yes. Acting in her capacity as a white house employee? No. hawking Ivanka Trump products? No.

    Oh...yes there is.
BTW, loved the Bill Maher comment that her position in the White House seemed to be Secretary of Lying to the Press from the Bottom of a Driveway.
