Is the complete lack of turnover that rare in college basketball? If we manage roster stability over the next few years and maintain the coaching staff, maybe it will be an x-factor in our favor for player development/chemistry... and maybe we can make one of those out of nowhere jumps up the standings...

We have been lucky to keep this staff together as long as we have. Just a matter of time before they get head coaching opportunities.

I expected Harper to contribute early but if Omoruyi is again our most improved player, he could have a breakout season.
you see this just about every season in the NFL draft (for those who watch all of it like I used to do). There is some prospect who gets drafted and the analysts mention that he just started playing the sport late in high school. Well maybe Rutgers basketball got that guy this time with EO...let's enjoy watching his development and cheer it on...it has been a pleasure to witness

Eugene showed flashes of being physical presence at the offensive end last year. If he’s the most improved player again he should have monster junior and senior seasons.

Don't forget Thiam falls into this same boat of not having played the game for a long time. They both could really blossom.

I can't help but see a comparison between Eugene and Draymond Green. Same size, style of play, and continuous improvement. Green didn't start for Michigan State until his junior year and is now arguably a top 10 player in the league.

At times last season, I loved how Eugene walked the line between being patient and aggressive on O. He wasn't prone to panic under pressure and rush into bad plays. Seeing him take another giant step would be awesome!

There were times last season when he got the ball at the top of the key, drove it to the rim, and was nearly unstoppable.

I hope we see more of that.

This was a great listen ! Can’t lie though - even if it’s true, I get bummed out when people damper our expectations on wins/loses. Losing Corey was huge - wish we kept him and it hurts even more because we still haven’t heard what his plans are professionally. I would hate to see him just kind of float around without a real plan.

And so much for the belief of many here that Harper would red shirt.

Yes, so many guys said Harper was out of shape and should red shirt. I stated before I saw him play about 6 times and he is good enough to play.

How about if he does that 3 years in a row!?

He might get drafted!

What I’m about to say Isn’t meant to be a cut on Deshawn ...but if onamuyri makes the same amount of jump from year 2 to year 3 that he did from year 1 to year 2 ...we are looking at an upgrade at the power forward spot this year....as, with that improvement I think Eugene can be a 11/7 in a more efficient way than Deshawn will

Couple that with the total upgrade we get with Shaq carter (and Johnson at the five spot)...I think the four and five spots could be in a BIG improvement this year in productivity and effenienxy ...while getting much bigger and better on the defensive end ...

Becoming very optimistic

If you haven't listened yet, make sure you do... Jerry does talk about Carter a bit and offers some caution there.

Carino says expect a down season since Cory left early and the schedule is tougher

But 2019-2020 could be a turning point.

He was much higher on Seton Hall
Now that I don’t understand. SHU graduates 4 of their 5 leading scorers (Rodriguez, Carrington, Delgado, Sanogo), and their incoming recruits are rated lower than ours.

Just as someone who has a fellow podcast, mine is NBA talk. The Atlantic Files on iTunes.. try not to say “you know” so often. My friend pointed it out to me for mine, it’s like a space filler and it gets redundant lol. Just a bit of advice, otherwise good stuff

Shu will lose again. Carino went to SHU and is a natural homer. Can’t blame him. The slight bias is obvious.
