But it was some more of the same. Five of the seven runs scored for OSU were from runners who had reached base via a walk. RU’s most experienced pitcher has a very tough outing, but some of the freshman did surprisingly well against a very strong lineup. RU has faced some very tough pitching this year. Last year there was a real drop off in production once the league season started, but this year I am guessing that we see the opposite. I am hoping that the young staff members who are doing well will continue to improve and take some innings away from the transfers who cannot seem to find the plate. I was surprised that we did not see Charles Bautista pitch before. Maybe he was hurt. But he looked very good.
