OT: Aerial America New Jersey

Wow, unbelievable if true. How can you avoid flying over the Raritan river and not recognize the birthplace of college football? They better have not said a word about any school in the State or even mentioned education or students.

Did they mention Princeton? Just curious because I recall Dartmouth when they did New Hampshire, Harvard and others for Mass, Penn State while doing PA, etc.
Update: Apparently it played last night a 8PM and the OP posted at 9:25 pm. He may be right, no mention at all.

On previous episodes there were stadium aerial views and talk about football programs at Ohio State, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wisconsin from what I recall. If they dissed Rutgers with no mentioned I will be very upset. In fact usually they will have at least a minute or two devoted to the state universities so I will be surprised if we don't get mentioned.

I recorded it this morning at 10am. will watch it when I get home later and report back if someone has not already.

I missed the first ten minutes , but they did not mention RU or any other school during the time I watched. Spent a little too much on Sandy IMO. I also found it a little jumpy form one part of the stat to another and then back. I am no producer but if you are going to highlight the Jersey Shore , start at Sandy Hook and go south to Cape May.

Haven't seen it yet, but they say on the web page that among other things, they focus on Jersey "firsts". You would think the first football game and baseball too (Hoboken) would be on that list.

Love this show... but this one spent too much time on history and hurricane Sandy. Definitely neglected RU, Princeton and other great sites in NJ

Just playing devils advocate here, but there was probably hundreds of things in our state worthy of mentioning on their show. But after commercials it's what, 40 minutes? Not enough time for everything

No mention of RU. pretty disappointing. Several places in show they could have.

State U. is usually included in these.

Too many other things to like and do. Not worthy of mention. How many would be interested? Not a recognized brand. I guess I can see it when played to a National audience. I did not expect it however after watching so many of these shows about other States. It is what it is in New Jersey.

Watching it now. James Gandolfini and Springsteen but no Rutgers.

Also, if you look closely we clearly lead the rest of the country in barbed wire topped fences. And I've seen just about all of these...

Seemed like at least half the show was devoted to the Jersey shore. I can't believe they couldn't edit out a minute of that and made some mention of RU (or even New Brunswick for that matter).

DVR-ed it and watched it this evening. Like everyone else, am disappointed that there was no mention of RU, or Princeton for that matter. But to be fair, there's 40 minutes to fill and there is a lot to cover. Big fan of the show and the states where they did show universities don't quite have the history and/or diverse landscapes NJ has. Between the revolution, 9/11, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, AC, Pine Barrens, Jersey Shore, the farms, Thomas Edison, Port Nwk/Elizabeth, industrial revolution/Paterson, Molly Pitcher, James Gandolfini, and Springsteen, the Hudson, Dutch history, the tunnels, bridges, Hindenbergh, tomatoes, Campbell soup - they covered a lot. They could have been a bit more positive though. No need to mention Bridgegate, AC's mob past and Jersey Shore (the show). They could have also done without showing Satin Dolls and the many shots of NYC skyline - which is obviously amazing from the air, but not really applicable.

Not mentioning RU was a definite disappointment, but it was a pretty informative episode nonetheless. They also completely omitted Newark (the state's largest city). I was surprised they didn't mention Hoboken and the Sinatra connection.

No Rutgers or the Birthplace of College Football....but we did get to see the BadaBing club.
No mention of the birthplace of Baseball, but we did see lots of barbed wire as 85 said.
No mention of Frank Sinatra!!! but we did hear the word "Manhattan" mentioned at least 10 times by my count
Gandolfini was a great actor and all but, seriously, Sinatra was a way better thing coming out of NJ although the show said Gandolfini was NJ's greatest product.
And if you were going to mention Gandolfini it was a great opportunity to Segway to his alma mater....Rutgers...the birthplace of college football.

a very informative episode but I think we need NJ part 2....
