Overlooked (by an incredible performance by Exaggerator in The Haskell and The US Open at Baltusrol) and underreported this weekend is that American Pharoah's 2-year old full blood (Pioneer of The Nile-Zenyetta) younger sister American Cleopatra WON her debut race very impressively Sunday at Del Mar (unlike Pharoah who finished 5th in his debut vat Del Mar). Went off at 7-1 and looks like she could have won by 5 before being eased by Stewart Elliott.(womn by 2 legnths).
"Cleopatra" is also owned by the Zayat family. Like her brother PhaRoah supposedly a sweet horse and a pleasure around the stable. Happy to announce as I was going through Pharoah withdrawal this summer and didn't believe in the handsome Exaggerator until Sunday.
