The Yankee pitcher was MLB's oldest living player.
His passing elevates Bill Greason, also at age 100 to the No.1 slot.
It also moves in Bobby Shantz at age 99 as the oldest living Yankees player.
It's been a tough week for the Top Ten,with Frank Saucier leaving us earlier this week.

Don't know why, but I had heard of him even though he was way before my time. He's another one who lost years to serving during WWII. RIP.

"...he roomed with Yogi Berra as a rookie, held Ted Williams hitless in two at-bats, and shared a clubhouse with Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle. ..." He also won 3 World Series rings and would have turned 101 next month.
