OT: Cablevision Moving BTN and Other Sport Channels

They're moving a lot of their channels around in August. Sports channels will all be 200-299. Movie channels 300-399.

For the sports nuts like me......

BTN moving to 247
ESPNU to 217
Fox College Sports 249, 250, 251
CBSSN 215
Golf Channel 224
MLB 222,
NFL 219-220
NHL 223
NBA 221, 269-278

ESPN and ESPN2 will still be on 36 and 35 along with a spot in the 200's. Same with YES (70), MSG (71-72), and SNY (60).


Damn, it's taken me so long to figure where everything was now I need to relearn although it'll be easier to find them.

Great minds think alike. Was just going to post on the same topic.

Not sure if I am the BTN I like where Cablevison is putting me....way at the bottom past some low lying fruit other "sports" channels.

247-251 are college sports only channels. They've pretty much bundled like channels together. Interesting that 246 is left vacant. SEC Network coming? Local first, then networks, then sport specific networks, then outdoor networks, then college. After that it's mostly numerous center ice, league pass, and extra innings.

Then why not throw ESPNU in with those guys?

Those Fox ones are minors players compared to BTN IMO.

I guess because the other ESPN channels are 210-11, and 216. Also in the 210's are CBSSN, NBCSN, and Fox Sports 1 and 2. All national networks.

Do you not have HD?

Yes I do. Cablevision has eliminated HD and non HD for the same programming. It's either or now. Even when there are two different channels they are both the same. ESPN and ESPN2 are HD on both whereas there is now only one B1G channel which is HD
