OT: Casey Murphy named to Under-20 Womens World Cup roster

She is one of three goalkeepers named to the team. The tournament will be held in Papua New Guinea from Nov. 13-Dec. 3.

It sounds like she will be the starter on this squad based on this paragraph from the SK.com article:

Murphy is 6-1-1 in international competition with the U.S. U-20 team, earning seven starts in eight matches played. The Bridgewater, New Jersey, native was added to the roster following the 2014 college season, debuting on March 5, 2015 in La Manga, Spain in a shutout against Norway.​

Not at all. She is actually redshirted this year, and in soccer you can manitain your amateur status while playing for the national team.

She Wil be back next year and the next world cup is 4 years away. By that time she will be pro

I've posted on Casey before. Used to live on my Running route-a former "neighbor". Took the semester off-with her we may have won another game or two-one or two goals make a difference.

I bet the US Soccer Federation would like to see Casey take over for Hope Solo before the next World Cup/Olympics.

Nope and we will be absolutely loaded next year despite the loss of Tiernan following this season.
