Sounds good.

I try to do it with more vegetables, salads, chicken and fish.

Xmas is my favorite meal of the year.

Smoking a ham and grilling an elk tenderloin over wood. Possibly a prime rib, too, but might save that for New Years.

Sides: marinated mushrooms, roasted asparagus and campfire-style potatoes. Maybe a Caesar salad.

Dessert: smoked-apple bourbon pie, hopefully pulled out of the oven seconds before serving, locally made ice cream on the side. Probably some cupcakes or cookies from the bakery, too.

Days after: awesome leftovers in front of bowl game of the day.

Xmas Eve I usually order seafood from the Pacific NW and make a cioppino or the like, but keeping it simple this year with sushi/sashimi takeout.

Drinks: local bourbon, wine, assorted beers and maybe mulled apple cider, brandy optional.

Christmas Eve is kielbasa, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, applesauce and rye bread...a 40 year tradition

Christmas Day is another replica of thankgiving with a few switches.....Turkey, stuffing, lasagna, green bean casserole, cranberry mold, stuffed celery, sweet potato casserole, orange fluff, cheesecake, cookies, and bandurnicki/lokse...a slovakian buttery delight made by my brother carrying on the tradition my grandmother and great aunt started

I have hosted Christmas dinner for my family for about 20 years or so now. I make Beef Wellington (three whole filets worth). We have mushrooms, peas, and various other veggie-type things and typically have various Christmas cookies, including gingerbread cookies for desert.

Christmas will be lasagna but as a kid my mom used to make home made manicotti, lasagna, stuffed shells, etc. Christmas Eve was at an aunts and Hungarian style....but seeing the 7 fishes menus makes me think we may want to do a variation Pacific NW style now that we live out here and it will be our first Christmas in the area.

Gotta say, some pretty awesome food choices on this board so I'm jealous. But I'll be in warm locale, so I don't care if I'm having 7-11 taquito.

As for you gunboat, you're going straight to heaven for the mitzvah. Well done!
