Lauren Cox, who plays at Baylor, and her sister Whitney, who plays at Lubbock Christian, were announced today as winning the award, to be presented at the Final Four. Both have Type 1 diabetes and Lauren, at least, plays at a high level despite having to manage her diabetes and is expected to be drafted for the WNBA this year.
Lauren has been open about her efforts to manage and has been involved with fundraising for JDRF.
