OT: Creepy Clowns invading NJ

So not sure what to make of this story but evidently grown men like to dress up like Clowns and scare the crap out of kids and it has started to invade NJ.

There have been 4 reports of creepy clowns the past 2 days in this N.J. town
"We don't need a society living in fear," Phillipsburg police Capt. Robert Stettner said Tuesday after four reported sightings in town over the past two days.

Yup, i've seen such creepy clowns in NJ last year. It was horrifying. I'm still recovering from this traumatic experience... :scream:

Hopefully none of the creepy clowns that people are seeing do anything like this...

There is a new IT movie coming out. I think it is grassroots marketing for the movie.

Kind of like my freshman year at RU when the fire alarm was pulled at Livingston. When we got back into the quads, there were VHS tapes laying everywhere. When we played the VHS tapes, this is what we saw:



We were all so freaked out. This was before Facebook, but word spread FAST. We called the police.

Someone ended up using Google to figure out it was related to a movie that was coming out....called The Ring.


I think these clowns are a similar thing.

There were some in other states chasing kids. I do not think I would react well to that.
 
I think there were a few that were marketing schemes and then copy catters who are probably either teens playing pranks or horror film wackos just trying to get their rocks off.

That police chief was great. "People dressed up like clowns walking around with swords gonna get shot. At least around here." When asked if the people should be concerned he responds "I think the clowns should be concerned".

If the clown isn't hurting anybody, has no gun, and the cops shoot him, and if that sort of thing becomes systemic, then I don't think a national protest is out of order.

OTOH, if the clown is hurting someone, or threatening someone, or resisting arrest, etc. then shoot the bastard.

Honestly, I don't see why everyone is making a big deal out of this issue. There are two perfectly valid sides. Seems to me people should support good cops and any citizens who are oppressed (regardless of race).
 
At University of Delaware last week there were clowns that students thought were wielding knives and guns. It won't be funny when some of these clowns get shot and killed, which you could definitely see happen.

If I see one on my Property I am warning it has 5 second to leave the property and then I will shoot it.

If someone shoots or badly pummels the shit out of one they will go away.

Enough s Enough with this shit. Community police this and let stop it.

The question still is how much of this is mass hysteria? Has there been any proof that these things are really happening? Lots of reports but no real tangible proof such as arrests other than a couple teenagers acting like teenagers.

Creepy clowns are becoming the next Bigfoot.

There was one that was 100% confirmed in Parsippany earlier this week in the Lake Hiawatha section outside and behind a Quick Check wielding a plastic machete.
I stop there every morning for coffee, manager told me it was leering around the corner of the building and someone called 911 then chased it away.

I'm of the belief that any idiot who does something like think deserves to be taught a lesson in humility.

Of course not everyone dressing up as clowns are crazy people who are dangerous. The problem is crazy dangerous people can see this as something to join in with. I for one will not take the chance on if the person dressed as clown and wielding a knife coming at me is pulling a prank or not.
 
The 6 train was shut down on Wednesday when a clown with a knife chased a kid through the 96th St station.

Didn't know 'wearing a mask in public' was a crime. I guess it makes a bit of sense, except for Halloween.

All these copycats are dumb, and sooner or later, one of them is gonna get shot. It's like the kids getting shot because they pointed their toy gun at someone.

I have yet to see a single picture even in cases of alleged arrests.
