From today's Football Scoop blog ... Wonder what the bucks spent for Brohm and Longo translate to in NJ dollars? $3.3M in the middle of Indiana and $600K in Mississippi go a long way.

Purdue: Jeff Brohm’s contract has formally been approved by Purdue trustees and it includes a fixed annual compensation of $3.3 million. Incentive milestones include team GPA, graduation rate, Big Ten division and conference titles, bowl game participation as well as participation in the college football playoff.

Ole Miss: New offensive coordinator Phil Longo will get a 2-year deal worth $600k the first year, and $700k in year two.

This is the guy that used to coach at Western Kentucky? Right. I know they were successful but to throw $3.3 mil plus incentives at this kid is a bit much. That's one helluva an agent he's got there. I guess that's what happens when you have a full share with an expected huge payout bump on the way. It must be nice to have that at your disposal.

I have a buddy that lives in Indiana near Muncie and he rents a three bedroom house on a full acre for $400 a month.

In their 1st years of the contract
Longo's contract would be worth roughly $180,000 less in NJ
Brohm's contract would be worth roughly $800,000 less in NJ

Only Hawaii and New York is a dollar worth less.

We threw $450K at Drew Mehringer when all he was was a position coach at a G5 school.

I remember when I suggested big big incentives in Schiano's contract like this 12 years ago. And the know it all types here, that chime in on everything said you can't do that. Maybe he would still be here and we wouldn't be stuck with this mental midget.
