RIP - Waco Kid in my favorite movie of all time....... And of course Willy Wonka...... You get nothing!!!

RIP Mr. Wilder - a big time star from my childhood - Willie Wonka, Stir Cazy, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein just off the top of my head.

News just released.

Springtime for Hitler (in the 1968 production) was classic. Dick Shawn as LSD (Hitler) / Ken Mars were absolutely fantastic.

Cast with crazy Mel Brooks manic humor is one of my favorite movies of all time: Animal House is still #1.

But the scenes with Gene / Zero..where he would go into panic attacks/ needed his blanket...as well as the times when showed admiration for the
conniving washed up Bialistak were played to PERFECTION.

Then of course there were the scenes (we needed MORE...LOTS MORE) with NJ's own Lee Meredith.

RIP Gene...you provided a lot of joy, humor / warmth to your roles....and here's hoping you and Gilda are very happy.

The thing I respect the most is that he did not want to disclose his alzheimers because he did not want to have kids associate a diblitating disease with a character that brought such joy to children.

I read that too. Makes you love the guy even more.

I met that guy on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights during a "Glemby Cut-a-Thon" (some hair-cutting fundraiser) in the late 70s. I used to eat my lunch sitting on the stage that had built into the boardwalk midway between the amusement piers. he was just sitting there lending his "celebrity" to the cause.. and no one made a fuss about him. The dude had a unique look too.. hard to NOT recognize him. Real nice guy. He was getting a lot of looks like "Is that...?" and "who is that? that's someone, right?"

Funny dude. He and his wife.. both funny.. both gone. Such is life.

Everyone is mentioning the usual hits.. but this might have the funniest scenes..

See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989)

I still use the "You get nothing!" line..... Great actor...... Funny guy.... Will be missed.....

One of the great comedic actors of all time. I loved this guy in the movies! RIP.

It is hell to bury a child.
If Brooks was the parent of his ensemble all but Cloris Leachman are now gone. Look at the cast of Blazing Saddles. All gone. David Huddleston just passed a few weeks ago. Put za kendle beck.

See No Evil , Hear No Evil was one of the funniest Movies he made. He and Richard Pryor killed in that movie

Can't think of any of his movies that I didn't enjoy. We don't acknowledge the great debt that the public owes to performers such as he.How barren our lives would be without the great artists in all of the disciplines.Sports included.R.I.P. Gene Wilder.

Terri Garr and Madeline Kahn and Cloris Leachman ,who incidentally was Miss Texas or something like it ,were all beautiful women who Brooks knew could do funny and quirky. Leachman was downright bizarre.

"Gene Wilder was one of the funniest and sweetest energies ever to take a human form. If there's a heaven he has a Golden Ticket." ---Actor Jim Carrey on Twitter
