this can be one of the greatest stories of all time
Like Babe Ruth and the red sox with Yankees
Giants have the offensive players that would blossom in his offense

It would have worked much better if he had a mobile QB.terrible idea . . . I spent three seasons here in South Jersey watching Kelly do dumb things. He cannot deal with NFL plays and his hurry-up offense meant that the variety of offensive plays was limited to the point of his plays being easy to spot just by looking at the formation.
It would have worked much better if he had a mobile QB.
As an Eagles fan, I feel cheated that we hired Chip to install the Oregon offense but got something of a compromise built around Bradford.
Chip's selling points may have been the sports science and hurry-up-no-huddle-spread offense, but his secret-sauce was the running QB.
I post on so many Eagle boards so I'm not sure if I've already posted my thoughts re: Chip/Bradford:
The first year, he had Vick and had the #1 scoring offense in the league.
Second year, he had Vick/Foles. Broke all kinds of records with Foles and the offense was again near the top of the league. He even had Sanchez moving the ball effectively.
IMO, this was the beginning of the end for Chip.
Because of his success with Foles/Sanchez, I believe Chip experienced some sort of God-complex where he thought his offense was so good he could stick anyone with an arm back there.
The second half last year began Chip's decline as coordinators began implementing tactics to counter tempo and packaged plays.
With another off-season, defenses are now fully caught up.
How did defenses do it? Since 1.) there are only a handful of plays and 2.) Chip doesn't allow audibles, teams would guess Chip's play and create traps for them.
Q: What could have prevented all this?
A: A running QB -- it forces defenses to play assignment football. Combined with tempo, it really makes defenses simple. A mobile QB also gives you a chance to get yardage on broken plays. Instead, the Eagles offense suffered from chronic three-and-outs.
Which doomed the defense causing the whole house of cards to collapse.
Great idea, fire the guy who was too controlling, and bring in Greg, Who's notChip Kelly would not be a good fit for the Giants. I wouldn't mind seeing David Shaw from Stanford, Greg Schiano and another favorite is Jeff Fisher. In the end, I hope they hire a HC who buys into the culture that won 4 Super Bowls.
You don't see it at the NFL level because few owners want to see their multi-million dollar investment in harm's way (a lot of it guaranteed, when it comes to a QB...).If a mobile QB is all that wonderful, then why don't we see more of it? And I am hard-pressed to think of a mobile QB who, for instance, won the Super Bowl. I think the problem is that it is a rare athlete who can be both an outstanding passer and an outstanding runner, and that a mobile QB is more vulnerable to injuries than a traditional QB. Otherwise, Randall Cunningham would be remembered as the greatest QB ever -- and he was one hell of an athlete.
By who? The Giants? So far Spags, McAdoo and Adam Gase have been announced for interviews.
Who got thrown out of the NFL as far and as quickly as can be.
ThisNo and no.

Folks have no problem with it in college because kids graduate anyway. Not to mention the good teams (OSU,... cough cough) have so many of them riding pine or waiting to sign that some are eventually forced to switch positions.
Cunningham failed at QB because Buddy didn't give two cents about offense and Jaws was a jerk to his understudy.[/QUOTE
You make a good point. Buddy Ryan called the spread offense "chuck and duck" and once got into a fistfight on the sideline with a fellow assistant who liked that offense. And remember that Rich Kotite was the coach after Ryan, and he was terrible. (Well, Jets fans can tell you that!) Not the coaches I'd want if I were trying to develop an NFL quarterback.
What you say illustrates how difficult it is to use a mobile-QB offense in the NFL. That's why I think Kelly was wrong in trying to use it at the pro level.
