Says she had a brief illness. Alot of that going around
She said in June that she was in “quite bad health here” and wouldn’t be touring; “the mind is willing but the flesh is weak” she said. Sounds like the brief illness may have been the culmination of a longer period of unwellness.
Mac never really had a lead singer, her, McVie and Buckingham all shared the mic.
she stepped away from touring after their comeback tour in the late 90s. She was in her 60s in the 2000s, she returned a few years ago, saw them in AC and she definitely lost a touch with the strength of her vocals. As far as I know she has been in solid health, she just felt the rigors of touring were alot. Some in their 60s and 70s can do it, some cannot
I think some of the others are in bad shape too. In the same interview she said John McVie is in bad health. Lindsey Buckingham had major heart surgery a few years back. It’s a glamorous life, but a tough one I guess.
Can tell you that Mick Fleetwood is alive and doing quite well going between Phoenix Ar. and Maui. My brother was on his flight going out of Sky Harbor Airport. As would be expected Fleetwood was basically attempting to stay incognito. Last saw Fleetwood Mac at the Rock 2015. Hell Stevie Nicks was a Hot 67 year old .
I had a friend who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Died within a month at age 63.

You know, I forget that these artists are not immortal sometimes. I’m 54 and musicians like her have given me the soundtrack of my life. I’m almost in disbelief when they pass away and then I realize how old they are and you can’t live forever. RIP. The music always lives on.
Most folks pick up Fleetwood Mac starting with the arrival of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham in the 1970s. But Fleetwood Mac actually started way back in 1967. Back then, John McVie's former playing partners formed "Chicken Shack" and needed a pianist. Christine Perfect wrote she wanted the job. She stayed for two albums and had a hit with "I'd Rather Go Blind" (an Etta James hit). In 1968, she married John McVie and in 1970 joins Fleetwood Mac (Mick Fleetwood & John "Mac" McVie") .

Stevie Nicks was friends with Petty and Prince…and now her band can never re-unite.
They actually joined in 74. But Bare Trees and Heroes Are Hard to Find are excellent albums.
They weren't going to because Stevie is co headling stadium tours with Billy Joel next year...and actually they can if they want with Lindsay..they toured without Christine alot
At 6' 6" it's kind of hard to stay incognito.
I recently saw an interview he gave. Thought he was extremely well spoken.
Please grow up then. The board has been waiting for that.
On a more serious note, I always thought he and Christine kept the band together even as members joined and left
