Gymnastics investigation update

IDK. If that was the case, she could have played her hand in the investigation to gin up some claims against Rutgers. But she and Hobbs both clammed up and would not answer questions, which seems kind of strange, or maybe it was a case of it taking two to tango? Maybe her lawyers have a different plan. Or no plan.
I would think her lawyer could just change the statement to “my client was a victim of sexual harassment in the workplace and she was scared and hesitant during the investigation for various reasons…..Now Rutgers people , what are you offering us ?”
Gotta think like a shady lawyer knight shift !

This is all correct . But really why do the football fans here care at this point ? Hobbs is gone and I doubt any of us here even knew anything about this gymnastics team before August 2024

Seems like a waste of 700k. I do wonder how this gymnastics coach has to take a leave or will get any discipline. Seems like she has the easiest sexual harassment claim in history if she wants to file suit
Definitely a waste of $700k. Seems a bit pricey but I’ve been a fan of RU gymnastics since 1983!

glad Hobbs is gone. In the scenario where schools determine the sports that receive revenue share, imagine if he took money away from football/basketball to prop up gymnastics etc. I wouldn’t put it past him.

What does sizzle chest mean?

I really got this one wrong -- I believed the cover story until the scandal was revealed in traditional media.

My guess is that she isn't claiming sexual harassment because the circumstances are such that she can't possibly prove it.

Maybe he'll go back to being a law professor?

A lot of ref flags were there with Hobbs and his attention seeking behavior. After the utterly unqualified Herman, he appeared to be a an adult in charge, but he benefitted from a very, very, very, very low bar.

There was also this one

So, NJ Advanced Media cost Rutgers $750K and a Swim Coach. Hobbs probably handled it correctly.. doing nothing before the charges went public. Then, once made public, *something* caused Hobbs to encourage coach to resign... then we have to pay $750K to avoid a suit over damages for termination without cause.

Thanks NJ Advance Media.

Looks like the coach may have built a winning program from nothing. Can they move her over to coach women's hoops?

Pretty much - so at the end of the day, all the talk about her getting unwarranted promotions, perhaps unfounded. Affair aside, maybe she deserved a raise….

>“The findings of an external probe led by Lowenstein Sandler LLP into the gymnastics coaching practices of head coach Umme Salim-Beasley, as well as her alleged relationship with former athletic director Patrick Hobbs are now available for the public to review. Hobbs stepped down in August 2024, reportedly due to medical reasons.<
