The annual thread. With extremely limited attendence allowed live at the track, it looks like I will be doing a virtual Hambo tomorrow at home watching the Meadowlands live feed on Youtube, I have missed only one Hambletonian in the last 34 years due to a wedding of a college buddy of mine so tomorrow will be surreal not being there.
In 2001 Scarlet Knight based in Sweden invaded the US and won the Hambo. Watch it here.
Anyhow for tomorrow the Hambo fave is the filly Ramona Hill who unfurled won of the most memorable stretch runs in Meadowlands history in the elimination last week kicking home from an impossible spot with a 25.4 last quarter. If she wins it would be the 2nd time in 3 years that a filly has won as Atlanta won in 2018. Another filly Sister Sledge also made the final. Back of the Neck and Ready for Moni appear to be the main challlengers
As usual a huge undercard filled with stakes
Back in the day crowds for Hambo were about 35K but even in the past few years crowd still approached 20K.
