Literally seems like 1/2 the team gets arrested and they have a coach who doesn't give a shit and still plays them.

Uhm, there is a reason why "The Fulmer Cup" is called "The Fulmer Cup." Tennessee is one of the most crime-ridden programs in NCAA football history.

My wife and I attended the Outback Bowl this past New Year's Day as we got pasted by Tennessee. Under their new coach recruiting has dramatically improved -- they are big, fast and well coached. Their fan base is fanatical plus rather enjoyable to be around -- in other words they don't throw beer on the other team's fans. I suspect that as they continue to attract only 4 and 5 stars that the player behavior off the field will suffer somewhat similar to Florida.

Why do people here think it's a big surprise that college football players commit crimes ?
These are talented young men, many of which probably give a rats ass about school and are there to play a very violent game . They aren't choir boys .
Usually , a coach is judged on how many games does or does not win .
