OT: Jim Carr Appointed Head Coach at Nation's #2 HS Team (link)

There has been chatter down here that this went down a few weeks ago and that Coach Sosa is no longer affiliated with Nike Team Florida. I haven't been able to confirm anything about NTF.

***edit***
I was just told that Sosa is still with Nike Team Florida. Car is an assistant coach for NTF as well. Really happy to hear Sosa still with NTF.

So, which Florida program (if any) or SEC program will hire Adrian Sosa ? He coached several top recruits

Not sure that would help them land any of his former U-School guys.

In a refreshing twist, Vernon Carey's parents have complete control of his recruitment.

Scottie Barnes has a father figure type, plus his parents actively involved.

Those are the two U-School prizes.

Logan Alters is a nice player for a LM or D2 school.

I don't think Sosa is a factor in Noah Farrakhan's or Kyke Sturdivant's recruitment. They don't attend U-School but play for Sosa with NTF.

The bigger question is will call Anthony still transfer to U-School with Sosa leaving? I'm hearing, from some people, that that is still the plan but the family will reevaluate.

This headline is a joke, no ??? While I always root for Coach Carr given the tragedy he and his family have over-come, it was openly discussed (that he would be the HC by August) at the Geico Tournament at CTK in Queens where University got blown out by Montverde (sp?).
They have 2 nice players who haven't improved since 8th grade, and University HS is not in the top 10 HS programs in the country, despite getting a lot of new $$ and boosters since Coach Carr relocated down there.

And although I have yet to meet @Russ Wood --even though I have read his posts on here for 5 years, I am sure he will back up everything I just shared.

Enjoy your weekends, RU brethren.

No, I will not backup everything you just said.

Both Vernon Carey and Scottie Barnes have improved during the time I have watched them.

The thread title/headline is not a joke. Click the link if you wish.

You did spell montverde correctly.

@Russ Wood what are you hearing about NJ native, 2020 PG Noah Farrahkan (sp). Previously, he had nice things to say about Rutgers, but, I am not sure if Rutgers is pursuing him. Probably because PG is not a high priority for the 2020 class.

I haven't spoken with him in a month. Unless Florida or USF offers a 2020 or 2021 kid I'm primarily focused on contacting 2019 prospects.

I've text him a few times but haven't heard back. My goal is to attend 3 IMG Academy games this season so I'll catch up to him at some point.

WOW. Vernon Carey and Scottie Barnes, two-five star prospects who were coached by Adrian Sosa at University School and Nike Team Florida, have decided to leave Nike Team Florida and play for an in-state rival EYBL program. Both programs were scheduled to play in Las Vegas this week.

Now I'm bracing to hear that both of these kids are going to transfer to Montverde Academy.
