Yup........seems like several lifetimes ago.

Saw Charles Kruathammer talking about the dangers of Glenn's space flights. He reminded people that rockets used to explode/crash regularly at the time. He said that after Glenn was squeezed into the tight capsule with help from NASA crews, the same crews then went three miles away for launch.."not one mile...not two miles...but three miles."
